2024 Summer Holidays Week 2
In week 2 our weekly OT sessions, have continued both face to face sessions as well as parent webinars in the evening. Here's a picture of Tommy having go on one of the OT4me swings at a face to face session.
Our big fundraising event of the year was the York 10K on Sunday 4th August. We were an official partner charity for the race, and 27 runners ran in support of our group. Our 12 route Marshals ensured that runners went the right way and stall helpers and cheer leaders came together to cheer everyone on and provide chocolate at the end. We were very grateful to Murton Park for lending us their Gazebo and to Nestle for donating chocolate and water. Our team fundraising page currently stands at a fantastic £4K and is still open for donations https://localgiving.org/fundraising/YDSSGYork10K

2024 Summer Holidays Week 1
Members of our group have had a great first week of the school holidays. On Tuesday our occupational therapy project with Sensory-OT4me Ltd. kicked off with some group sessions and an evening parents webinar. On Wednesday we were joined by volunteers from York Nestlé who supported us at an activities day which involved arts and crafts, outdoor games, singing and signing and a conga! On Friday our “Dig it!” Archaeology group planned their trip to visit Skipwith and learn about its medieval origins.
These are a few pictures of Wednesday’s activity day. A huge thank you to our Nestle volunteers who gave us their time, energy, enthusiasm, and great company (and provided a bit of chocolatey sustenance!)
